Every year, students wishing to enroll in AP Literature and Composition are required to complete a summer assignment. Each year is different, so please be sure to pay attention to the year designation about the assignment descriptions.
All assignments are due by the first day of school.
1. If you do not have a gmail account, please create one. 2. After creating a gmail account, please create a blog using this account at blogger.com. This is run through gmail, so you will have an automatic account. When you title your blog and create its address, please make sure it is school appropriate. 3. Your first post in your blog should be an introduction of yourself and your literacy history. This does not need to be lengthy; simply an explanation of your relationship with reading and writing. This also should be honest. Not everyone takes AP because they enjoy the subject. 4. Email Ms. Ryce with your name, gmail account, and your blog address at bryce@nkasd.com AND ophecira@gmail.com. 5. You will be reading three pieces of literature: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Crucible, and a novel/drama of your choosing. For each piece, you will create a blog post that shares your reader-response for the literature. What did you like or dislike? What confused you? What did it remind you of? You can choose to do this by chapter or after every time you read. I would prefer you have multiple posts - at least 3 - for each piece of literature rather than waiting until you finish the entire book. Then, for each piece, follow the directions below:
To Kill a Mockingbird After your blog entry, go the the TKAM page and follow the instructions.
The Crucible After your blog entry, go to The Crucible page and follow the instructions.
Your Choice Only a blog entry is required for this.
